Despite all the amazing temples and sights to see in Tokyo, I was drawn to this scene. As I walked over an overpass I caught this view of very empty roads. Devoid of any cars, this to me is an unusual view of Tokyo and these are the scenes that interest me the most. I was inspired by an English artist called Jan Orpin and her paintings of very ordinary scenes,
Due to the simplicity of this composition, I felt free to have fun with colour, dramatic brush strokes and glazes.
